Who knew that a reality TV show in 2002 called The Bachelor would become so popular that people all over America would gather in their living room to watch men pick their soulmates from a group of beautiful and well-educated ladies. The viewers always pick their favorites in the first few episodes and can't wait to see who moves to the next round and which of these ladies gets eliminated.
In the end, the show has the bachelor picking one contestant and then comes the marriage proposal. With plenty of shocking moments, drama, tears and rivalry, there is always something to look forward to with The Bachelor and it's five spin-off series. So before we start another season of this game show, let's have a look at the previous years' winners and see if they still wear the engagement rings given to then at the end of the show!
Season 1: Amanda Marsh and Alex Michel

Alex Michel became the lucky man to kick off the very first season and hoped to find himself a wife and move into an apartment with her. After 7 weeks of shooting the series, the TV producer and businessman picked event planner Amanda from all the other contestants, and instead of marriage, he proposed that they date longer to ascertain their compatibility.
Smart move Alex! The couple broke up after a year but apparently still keep in touch for birthdays and other occasions. Amanda, who is now putting her nursing degree to use, is married to Jay Caldwell, her childhood friend, and they have a daughter together. Alex seems to have moved to Washington D.C, working for a consulting firm and is said to be single.
Season 2: Aaron Buerge and Helene Eksterowicz

The Bachelor's second season redeemed itself, as the finale culminated with a marriage proposal! But this TV relationship was just not meant to be, as even though Aaron proposed to the beautiful Helene, they broke up just 5 weeks after they show the season finale. It's a good thing the couple decided to move on with their lives.
Helen moved to New Jersey, met and married tech consultant Andrew Goodman, and they now have a son together. She prides herself for being known for her new career, since she is a school psychologist now. Aaron, too, found love his wife and they now have a baby daughter, who they raise in Clinton, Missouri. He is said to be a VP of a big bank, so we assume his income is more than what he earned from the show!
Season 3: Jen Schefft and Andrew Firestone

Usually, someone as rich and famous as an heir to the Firestone Tires company wouldn't need to appear on a TV show to find love, but Andrew Firestone decided to try his luck by appearing as "the bachelor" on the 3rd season of the show. After a long season and a lot of tough competition, Jen Schefft managed to grab his heart and get that coveted diamond engagement ring.
Sadly, the relationship only lasted a few months and this couple, too, did not end up married. Jen didn't get enough of The Bachelor, so she ended up on the third season of the show, The Bachelorette. Now, she's married to Joe Waterman and is a stay-at-home mom, engaged in childcare since they have two kids. Andrew, on the other hand, married actress Ivana Bozilovic on the Firestone family vineyard and they live in San Francisco with their three beautiful kids.
Season 4: Estella Gardinier and Bob Guiney

Another season of The Bachelor that brought us some hope was the fourth one, when fitness guru Estella Gardiner was picked by game show GSN Live's host, Bob Guiney in the last episode. But even before they could contact a moving company and start living with each other in their apartment, the couple broke up. But they remain to be friends, occasionally calling and texting each other.
Bob married actress Rebecca Budig from the TV series All My Children, but eventually divorced her to marry Jessica Canyon in 2016, and the couple now have a child together. He is the lead singer of the band 'The Band From TV,' which is made up of other stars from reality shows! Estella is a big fitness influencer and is a sales representative in San Diego. She is a fitness teacher who helps her clients with weight loss and also helps prevent suicides through her organization 'Project Love You'.
Season 5: Jessica Bowlin and Jesse Palmer

There were plenty of women swooning over former NFL quarterback and sports commentator Jesse Palmer, who, in season 5, picked Jessica Bowling as the winner of the show, but he did not propose marriage, so the couple never had to worry of caterers, dresses or wedding venues.
Jessica wanted some privacy after the very public break-up and now lives in LA with her husband and two adorable children. Her career is thriving since she passed the California State Bar Exam and is now a qualified lawyer! Jesse, who we see these days on the show Good Morning America, is a big name in sports broadcasting, as he was a sports analyst and played for the Canadian Football League, right after The Bachelor ended.
Season 6: Mary Delgado and Byron Velvick

Mary and Byron's official photo from The Bachelor was every wedding photographer's dream and we were really hoping for a wedding, since the couple chose to stay together for 5 years after the show ended and Byron proposed! They did have a rocky relationship as Delgado was once arrested as she got physical during a fight with Byron. Around 2 years after this incident, the couple parted ways.
Trouble followed Delgado as she had to hire lawyers for a couple of legal issues over the years, but of late, she seems to have tuned her life around, getting married, and starting 'The Mary Delgado Health and Fitness Channel' on YouTube. She is also a real estate agent in Florida. Byron was a professional bass fisherman before and after the show but retired in 2016. He lives in Texas with his daughter and second wife and they run a resort in Del Rio.
Season 7: Sarah Brice and Charlie O’Connell

If Charlie appears familiar before his The Bachelor days, that's because he has appeared in movies like Dude, Where's My Car? and Sliders, which also starred his more famous brother, actor Jerry O'Connell. Charlie picked Sarah Brice on the show to be his lady, and the couple were engaged for 2 years before Charlie's alcohol addiction caused them to break up. They got back together 3 years later, but again parted ways.
Sarah enrolled in a nursing school and works for a multi-million dollar cosmetic procedure company as an aesthetic laser guru. She is happily married with three gorgeous boys. Charlie, is doing well too, since he decided to go to a rehabilitation centre and sober up. He recently got engaged to model Sophia Berglund.
Season 8: Sarah Stone and Travis Lane Stork

Travis Stork was a medical doctor and ER physician when he appeared on the 8th cycle of the popular show. He chose to be with kindergarten teacher Sarah Stone, giving her "the rose" but withheld his proposal. Oddly enough, their relationship was the shortest that the show had ever seen, since it lasted just a week after the show wrapped up.
Sarah eventually got her happy ending when she married Brock and they have three daughters together. She is now a real estate agent woking in Nashville. Stork was cast as the host of the daytime talk-show The Doctors, featuring celebrity interviews. On the personal front, he married fellow medical doctor Charlotte Brown, but they divorced after 3 years of marriage. He is said to be single since his split.
Season 9: Jennifer Wilson and Prince Lorenzo Borghese

Season 9 was a monumental season since it featured a real life prince! Lorenz Borghese comes from Italian nobility, the first to be featured on the show. The girls must have been dreaming of castles and palaces when they were courting him, but it was eventually Jennifer Wilson who got the rose, but not a proposal for marriage. This beautiful couple dated for a year before calling it quits.
Jennifer retreated to a quite life after the show, getting married to accountant Lee Gerschutz, and got busy raising their two kids. She is now a wellness coach with Juice Plus, a famous health company. Lorenzo is a cosmetics entrepreneur and animal activist, who also appeared in Celebrity Big Brother. He really seems to love animals as he also owns a pet supply company and a pet spa in Italy. He is reportedly dating Linnea Sensenbaugh.
Season 10: Tessa Horst and Andy Baldwin

Moving on to season 10's eligible bachelor, Andy Baldwin, who is a naval officer and physician. He got down on one knee during the finale and gave Tessa Horst an engagement ring but they never did end up getting married, even after 8 months of being together. This could be because they didn't want a long-distance relationship as Andy was deployed to serve in the Pacific.
Post-TV fame, Terra got married to Tom Pickard and they raise their son together. She lives in San Francisco now, working as is a clinical supervisor at a nonprofit. Andy Baldwin is still serving in the navy and is an active triathlete, and might we add, he has an active dating life, as well. He has been with Dancing with the Stars dancer Karina Smirnoff, dated Marla Maples (Donald Trump’s ex-wife) and is now with Natalie Davila.
Season 11: Brad Womack

Brad Womack was a successful entrepreneur, a bar owner and a complete hunk when he appeared on the show for it's 11th cycle. But he did not seem to find his 'Lady Luck' on the show and returned with all his roses in hand as he did not choose anyone from the final two contestants - Jenni and DeAnna. Still not losing hope, he was back for season 15 of The Bachelor, getting to pick from a new group of talented ladies.
This time, he left the show engaged to Emily Maynard, but looks like it just wasn't meant to be, as they both split after a few months. Brad seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth, and was last known to own a few bars in Texas. He remains to be the first and only 'bachelor' to have appeared on the show twice.
Season 12: Shayne Lamas and Matt Grant

In a first, the bachelor in the show's 12 season, British business developer and financier Matt Grant, was not the most famous face on the show, but the girl he picked for himself, was! Matt presented Shayne Lamas with a rose and a ring, proposing marriage to her. Her family name may sound familiar to you all, since she is the daughter of soap opera actor Lorenzo Lamas. Shayne and Matt broke up after a few months of dating.
Shayne's life was tumultuous after the show, as she was arrested in 2009. She got married to influencer Nik Richie and they have two daughters together. The couple last appeared on the VH1 show Couple's Therapy together. Matt returned to his life in London and got married in 2017 to Rebecca Moring. All's well that ends well, isn't it?
Season 13: Melissa Rycroft and Jason Mesnick

"Wow!" is all we could say when they aired the season 13 finale episode because it was just so dramatic and unexpected. Jason, our handsome bachelor, ended up proposing to Melissa, a decision we all cheered! But then he had a change of heart and broke up with her before the last ceremony, choosing to present the rose to the runner-up Molly Malaney!
If you thought Melissa was ashamed of what happened, you would be dead wrong! She went on to star in Dancing with the Stars, Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars, Bachelor Pad and has even hosted Redneck Island. Now, she's married to Tye - her best friend — and they have three children. Jason has become a real estate agent and he lives in Seattle with Molly, who he married in 2010 and they have a daughter together. He also has a son from a previous marriage, and they are all like one big happy family.
Season 14: Vienna Girardi and Jake Pavelka

Jake Pavelka is a pilot by profession, and his reality star career switch seems to work in his favor. He picked and proposed to Veinna Girardi, even though she was not the crowd favorite and was considered to be a "mean girl." So, to noone's surprise, the couple broke up and they had a very public screaming match on camera, just a month after the split.
Since the breakup, Vienna dated people on and off, started her own clothing boutique in Florida and now works as a recruiter. Jake, has since dated several women, including actress Kristen Chenoweth. He is said to be dating a lady from Arkansas now, and has picked up a lot of reality TV jobs, having appeared in Bachelor Pad and even on Dancing with the Stars.
Season 15: Emily Maynard and Brad Womack

So Brad Womack decided in season 11 that none of the ladies were good enough for him and his "redo" came with season 15 when he was back on the televised search for his soulmate. He was successful this time around, as he proposed to Emily Maynard and put a huge diamond engagement ring on it! But, just after the finale aired, the couple broke up and they had an on and off relationship before finally calling it quits.
Maynard got to star in the next season of The Bachelorette, getting engaged to Jef Holm before that quickly ended, too. She later married her boyfriend Tyler and the couple now live in North Carolina with their four kids. Brad wasn't that lucky in love, and generally dropped off the radar. He is said to be single, occasionally dating, that is when he is not busy managing his bars in Texas.
Season 16: Courtney Robertson and Ben Flajnik

Ben Flajnik, a brilliant entrepreneur, went against the popular viewer's vote and shocked everyone when he picked the "villain" of the show, Courtney Robertson, as the winner and his new fiancé. Like we all saw coming, the couple split within a year and he later admitted that he chose her because he liked the idea of a model being into him! Soon enough, both of them contacted media companies to give their side of the story and backbite about each other.
Courtney used her time in the limelight to generate publicity for her tell-all memoir where she makes it clear that she did not sign up on the show to make friends! She dated racer Arie Luyendyk (from season 22) but that didn't work out. She works in Los Angeles now as a real estate agent. Ben is doing well in his business endeavors and was dating some pretty women on and off, the most recent being Stephanie Winn, who he met on the dating app, Tinder.
Season 18: Nikki Ferrell and Juan Pablo Galavis

The first ever Latino to star in The Bachelor was season 18's former soccer player Juan Pablo Galavis, who found himself losing many fans due to a few offensive comments he made on the show. But he chose contestant Nikki Ferell as his companion and fans were quick to notice that he never proposed to her, nor said that he loved her! The long distance probably got to them and they even appeared on Couple's Therapy to fix things, but that did not work and they broke up.
Nikki found love again with a former boyfriend, Tyler, and they got married in 2016. She lives and works in Kansas City as a pediatric nurse after receiving her degree from nursing school. Juan Pablo was single for a long time before he took the plunge with former Miss Venezuela and model Osmariel Villalobos and they have a daughter together. Galavis is now a music and sports commentator.
Season 17: Catherine Giudici and Sean Lowe

History was not showing a promising trend for the couples from The Bachelor, so it was so refreshing to find one couple from the show that actually made it work! Season 17's bachelor Sean, proposed to graphic designer Catherine when they were in Thailand for the show and ended up getting married in 2014 during an extravagant wedding, which was all televised.
The newlyweds decided to cash in on their newfound fame and appeared on many reality TV shows such as Celebrity Wife Swap, Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars and Dancing with the Stars. They have two kids together and live in Texas now. From what we can gather from their social media posts, they are happily married and still in love with each other.
Season 20: Lauren Bushnell and Ben Higgins

This season's end was a doozie! Ben Higgins declared his unwavering love for one of the contestants. JoJo Fletcher and then went on to propose to another contestant Lauren Bushnell! Eventually, Lauren moved to Denver to be with Ben and they even got their own reality show Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After? Eventually, they broke up the same year.
Don't feel too bad for Lauren because she just got engaged to country singer Chris Lane, after moving in with him some time back. She is kept busy planning a wedding and working at her rose wine company that she founded. Ben is now with a software company, does plenty of reality TV shows, and co-hosts a podcast. He was spotted with many a pretty ladies in tow, but is now said to be single.
Season 19: Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff

Chris Soules was very different from the other guys who appeared on the show, and that's because he is a real life farmer! When we saw Whitney (season 19 winner) with Chris, we thought they would be together forever. He popped the question and she said yes, but 6 months after the big proposal, the couple broke up.
Whitney went on to star in Bachelor Nation and also in the parody version of the show called Will You Accept This Rose. She now lives in Chicago, working as a fertility nurse and is married to Ricky Angel since 2017. Chris went back to his farm in Iowa but was all over the news as he pleaded guilty at his sentencing in court as he left a scene of a fatal accident.
Season 21: Vanessa Grimaldi and Nick Viall

Season 21's Nick Vaill is a model and actor who has had his heart broken publicly not once, but twice on The Bachelorette, so it was his time to do the choosing on this season of the show. At the end, he proposed to special education teacher Vanessa Grimaldi, but they were in no hurry to get married. Vanessa even moved from Montreal, Canada to Los Angeles to make her relationship work, but after a few months, they called off their engagement.
Vanessa went back to Montreal after the break-up and soon began dating Canadian businessman Josh Wolfe. Nick, in no hurry to start a relationship, channelized his energy towards work and has been appearing in several episodes of the TV series General Hospital. He was last rumored to be dating Mad Men actress January Jones.
Season 22: Becca Kufrin and Arie Luyendyk Jr.

When Arie Luyendrk, a professional race car driver and real estate agent, was named season 22's bachelor, the show got itself a lot of female viewers, for sure. The handsome Dutch-American chose publicist Becca Kufrin as the winner, but eventually broke off their engagement 2 months after the filming had wrapped up to reveal that he was in love with runner-up Lauren Burnham!
The storyline sounds eerily similar to what happened in season 13 with Jason Mesnick, but everyone got their happy ending. Kufrin was signed on to appear in season 14 of The Bachelorette, when she chose Garrett Yrigoyen as her man. They moved in together and now live in Los Angeles, but have no immediate plans to get married. Arie and Lauren got married and now live in Arizona with their daughter Alessi.
Season 23: Cassie Randolph and Colton Underwood

Season 23 of this TV show revealed a strong connection to the previous season of The Bachelorette. Becca Kufrin may not have chosen charity founder and football player, Colton Underwood in the 14th season, but he got his shot at love when he was the bachelor on 2019’s The Bachelor for it's 23rd season.
Underwood chose Cassie Randolph on the show to be the winner, but she shocked him and everyone when she was not able to commit to his proposal and left him! Underwood turned his life upside down and fought to win her back and he won! The couple talked it out and are still together, with no proposal or wedding in sight. Cassie and Colton want to take it slow and explore their relationship before taking the plunge.
